Title: Senior Payroll Compliance Analyst

Location: Atlanta, GA

Summary

As a Global Payroll Compliance Analyst, you will work closely with the Global Payroll Regional Leads to provide support, guidance, and continuous training on payroll compliance in North America, LATAM, EMEA & APAC.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on Global Payroll compliance policies, procedures, and programs to ensure that they meet legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Partner with internal legal team to produce interpretations of findings as well as recommendations on changes to existing policies and systems.

  • Partner with HRIS/IT to manage system updates related to regulatory changes, statutory reporting and ensure time and attendance rules are accurately configured to comply with country specific wage and hours laws and collective bargaining agreements. Perform duties as a test lead and execute tests related to payroll compliance.

  • Partner with Finance to ensure compliance with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and working with Finance teams to ensure journal entries and reconciliations are completed accurately and according to Finance close schedules.

  • Create and maintain a compliance tracker that can be use dot report to HR leadership on compliance status, proposed improvements, and impending legislative changes.

  • Partner with Payroll Tax Analyst and Corporate Tax to ensure compliance with payroll taxes and taxes reporting.

  • Stay informed about changes in wage and hour laws, regulations, and industry standards that may impact Payroll policies.

  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address potential compliance challenges and ensure proactive measures are in place.

  • May partners with external consultants to gain expert advice where necessary.

  • Update policies as necessary to reflect changes in legal requirements and mitigate compliance risks.

  • Partner with Internal audit to define and modify internal controls and conduct regular audits of payroll records to identify and mitigate risks.

  • Address additional compliance issues that may impact payroll taxes and processing such as state leave laws and insurance entitlements.

  • Partner with data privacy teams to ensure adherence to CCPA, GDPR regulations and policies.

  • Educate the business and local payroll teams with regards to compliance and processes

  • Continuously evaluate, implement best practices, streamline operations, enhance payroll, and tax processes for efficiency and accuracy.

  • May act as the back-up support end to end US/Canada payroll processing on a biweekly & weekly basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance or Business Administration

  • Minimum 5 years of North America payroll experience with 2 years of international experience

  • Certified Payroll Professional Certification (CPP) a plus

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with payroll application such Workday

  • Well-organized, extreme attention to detail and a self-directed individual

  • Deep knowledge of current rules, regulations, laws, principles, and practices related to global payroll processing.

  • Deep knowledge of wage and hour and tax regulations such as FLSA, FICA, EPA, FUTA and general laws and regulations regarding taxes globally

  • Knowledge accounting principles and data protection and privacy laws

  • Knowledge of technologies, system implementations and ability to recommend changes or improvements to existing processes or systems.

  • Knowledge of preparing documentation for government audits and annual filings.

  • Knowledge of advanced auditing and monitoring techniques required to ensure compliance.

  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong focus on customer service.

  • Strong sense of urgency.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
